New Online Service Promises Smooth Sailing for Boat Transactions

NEW HAVEN, CT.-- For years, navigating through a yacht transaction has been as difficult as cruising through fog without radar. There are dozens of steps required, from financing and
documentation to surveys and insurance. Now a new tool is available to assist professional yacht brokers in helping buyers plot their course through the boat buying process.
Secured Marine Trust (http://www.securedmarinetrust.com/), a marine software and data management services company based in New Haven, Conn., has launched a new online business application for yacht brokers
that automates, streamlines and securely facilitates the entire sales transaction step-by-step.
The new online service, called ONEtoolSM, was created for yacht brokers and boat dealers, marine lenders, insurance agents and others involved in the transaction process and is now gaining acceptance
after three years of product testing and development. In fact, the Annapolis-based Yacht Brokers Association of America (YBAA) announced its first-ever endorsement of the system on Feb. 2 at its annual
conference in Ft. Lauderdale (http://www.ybaa.com/). The endorsement announcement was made jointly by YBAA executive director Joseph Thompson and Jeff Turner, CEO of Secured Marine Trust, LLC (SMT).
A special task force, appointed by the YBAA Board of Directors, was unanimous in its recommendation to the association's 870 member brokers that ONEtool will provide significant improvements and efficiencies
in customer data management, transaction administration and listing management. Brokers using the system will pay an annual subscription fee of approximately $400.
According to YBAA's Thompson, "We have worked closely with SMT over the past two years evaluating the ONEtool system. Our Board-appointed Task Force, comprised of active member brokers, was unanimous
in its opinion that the YBAA Board should endorse ONEtool as an excellent new broker transaction and marketing management tool, worthy of the consideration of all YBAA member brokers."
Subscribers to the ONEtool system operate on a completely secure Web site where the privacy of their information is assured as it efficiently flows to support document preparation, sales administration
and listing advertising management. ONEtool eliminates repetitive steps that can cause errors and delays.
